Creating quality videos takes time, and while good gear helps, it’s not everything. Start small, dream big, and keep going—consistency is key!
THE GEAR I USE AND LOVE
The gear I use has evolved so much and it’s a question I get asked a lot… “What gear do you use to make videos?” So here you go… this is all the gear I use to record, edit and upload YouTube videos, plus some other gadgets I’ve picked up along the way!
Camera and Recording gear
My everyday camera, the machine I use to make all my videos!
I used a zoom lens for months until I got this lightweight ultrawide lens.
The original zoom lens, I purchased this along with my Camera. Great for photography!
The camera’s built-in audio is not great for videos… this is an amazing upgrade!
First Mic, Arm and shock mount I bought for creating videos.
I wanted to move the mic closer to my mouth, this arm is perfect.
When you get serious about creating videos, you need to up your lighting game!
You’ll need a decent-sized softbox to diffuse and soften the harshness of the key light.
Sturdy light stand to hold the key light and softbox.
Small and simple RBG lights for dynamic backgrounds
I needed a decent RGB LED light to remove the shadow from one side of my face.
These come in so handy for mounting my RGB lights, camera etc
Used for photography or when I need to record away from my desk.
I mount my camera to the desk, which makes things easier to get set up for recording.
Use this for recording when travelling / vlogging
Lots of spare batteries, these things are always charged and ready to go.
Handy when recording longer scripts, makes the editing process a lot easier!
Much-needed SD-CARDS, you’ll need plenty of these for recording!

A high-spec Macbook Pro is needed for recording, and editing.
Much needed camera bag to carry all my gear when I’m travelling.

You can never have enough handy external hard drives. These are great!
Ahh my drone.. in London it’s hard to fly but when I get it in the air I love it!
